From Brent and Dina
And there were in the same country shepherds
abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory
of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring
you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour,
which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you;
Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying
in a manger.Luke 2:8-12 (KJV)
That’s the message of Christmas! The Lord
of Heaven and Earth came to us not in all His glory but as a
Babe born in a barn to poor, young virgin mother. He came to
the poor, the brokenhearted, the sick and the blind, to heal
their wounds and to set them free from sin. He came for you
and me. Jesus came because He knew that one day He would
have to die on an old rugged cross. Jesus came because He loved
us.
This holy season is not about a chubby guy in
a red suit, Christmas trees, presents or sleigh rides (although
all those things are fun); it is about the Messiah who came to
save us from our sins. My prayer is that you and I would focus
on Immanuel, which literally means, God with us.
Really Big News!
We are excited to announce that Dina is pregnant and
our baby is due in late April. Dina just turned 40
on November 21 (Happy Birthday, Honey!) so there are more concerns
for this pregnancy. She is doing well and progressing nicely.

Rachel and I continue to be excited about joining Hoops
of Hope. God has blessed us as we have been meeting with
people and churches. We currently have 14% of our monthly
goal raised. Pray for us as we continue to work for new
contacts for support. Phil.1:6 says, "...being confident
of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it
on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (NIV)
This has been a good reminder for Rachel and I as we continue seeking
to serve the Lord. The Lord has begun a great work in Hoops of Hope and
He will carry it on until the day of Jesus Christ!
Prayer Requests
- Kevin and Rachel Boaz as they continue to
raise their support and develop new contacts
- For the health of Dina and our new baby
- Debbie Wadle’s appeal, we are praying for
a decision by the end of the year
- Please pray for our finances. The Lord continues
to bless us but we have been running at a deficit for a few
weeks. We want to finish the year strongly. Pray that God blesses
us according to His riches in glory!

I would like to wish you a most blessed holy season. The fact
that Jesus came to us gives us the reason to operate Hoops
of Hope. If you have not committed your heart and life to the
Lord, now is the best time! God bless you during this special
season.
